Show was great...audience not so much! When did theater goers become so rude? People kept getting up during the show. The women two rows in front of me yelled "Santa" when the show opened, filmed with a cell phone, even after being told three times to stop, yelled at a sweet little boy behind them, and kept getting up during the show. Behind me was a talker and many people flew out of their seats to leave during curtain call. I am appalled at the rudeness. Maybe the theater needs to read the rules before a show so that all theater goers can have a pleasant experience.

Movie charm doesn’t translate

I’ve seen quite a few live shows. I would have to say this one wasn’t even close to my favorite. We took our two nephews (5&7) and while the youngest liked some of the songs and dancing, the show didn’t even hold my attention. This is certainly no reflection of the actors! They were a wonderful group and a talented cast (the actress who played Jovie was especially talented and I also very much enjoyed Buddy’s supervisor at the toy store who also doubled as one of the depressed Santas). The movie is great but didn’t translate well to a live show. I wish we would have saved our money and rented the movie at home instead.

Good but long

No disrespect to any of the employees or actors. Everyone was very respectful and kind. The actors were very gifted and talented. It was a great performance. The only issue was the length of the performance. The show itself was over two hours long. My kids and I were pretty restless towards the end. If I had known how long the play would be, I would not have purchased tickets. We went to the 7 PM performance. We were not walking out of DPAC until after 10 PM. My other complaint is the merchandise. At previous performances, quality merchandise, while expensive, has been worth it. This merchandise was far from. The snow globe looks like a clown is standing in it, not buddy the elf. And the light up necklace my daughter wanted looked like it cost $.50, not the $20 we were being asked to pay. And it didn’t work. There was only one person working in merchandise. We stood in line for over 50 minutes in total to purchase souvenirs. (30 minutes prior to the show but we had to abandon the line to take our seats as the show was starting. And then the entire 20 minute intermission.) Had I known there were not quality items to purchase, my children and I wouldn’t have wasted our time.
